Dr. Oscar Wanyutu Githua

Dr. Oscar W. Githua is a Consulting Forensic Psychologist and an Assistant Professor of Psychology at USIUAfrica. He holds a Doctorate degree in Forensic Psychology from the California School of Forensic Studies in Los Angeles, California. He is the current Chairperson of the Kenya Psychological Association.  He is notable for his work as a Leader responding to the Westgate Mall Terrorist Attack, Garissa University College Terror Attack, 14 Riverside Complex Terror Attack and others, providing Trauma Interventions to the affected people, security forces and their families.

Dr. Githua was on the Panel that drafted the Psychologists and Counsellors Bill 2014 that was signed into Law in 2014. He was awarded as one of the Top 40 under 40 Men in Kenya for 2014/2015, for his contribution in the field of Psychology in Kenya. He was also awarded the Faculty of the Year award, for 2015 at USIU-Africa.

Dr. Githua has conducted research studies and has been awarded grants for cutting edge research, which he has done and presented the findings in both local and international Conferences. He is a member of KPA, APA, and FMHAC.  He is consistently sought after and featured as an expert on TV, Radio and Print Media outlets, both locally and internationally, contributing on issues surrounding his areas of expertise.
